Now that you’ve bit the bullet and purchased a Unibind thermal binding machine for your office, perhaps you’re wondering how you can get the most out of your new device. There are a number of ways you can do that, from choosing the right supplies to taking advantage of your machine’s impressive binding capacity. Here are five ways you can get the most out of your Unibind machine.

1) Get the right supplies. One of the best things about this binding system is the incredible array of supplies that are available. Unibind manufactures a number of great covers including their PhotoBook, SteelBook, and SteelMat/SteelCrystal products. The PhotoBook and SteelBook supplies are perfect for when you want your document to look like a real hardcover book. Meanwhile, a SteelMat or SteelCrystal cover is the right choice for making professional-looking sales reports and the like. You can even make your own covers by using a SteelBack spine. There really are a lot of options available and they’re guaranteed to make your documents look like a million bucks.

2) Use the right size. When you’re deciding which cover or spine to use, you need to consider the size you’ll need. This is essential because if you choose a cover that’s not thick enough for your document, it’s very possible that not all of the pages will be bound. Likewise, if you use a cover that’s too large, your final product will look a bit off and you might find yourself losing pages from your books. To choose the right cover/spine, you can use the Unibind Spine Measurer, an inexpensive device that will help you choose the right one.

3) Bind a lot of books at once. Unibind machines can bind one document with no problem, but they’re really great for binding a whole bunch of documents at the same time. Even the smallest device, the XU138, can bind up to 8 documents in one go, which is quite a lot. Using your machine to simultaneously bind a lot of books will help you save time and finish the job a lot faster.

4) Use your machine’s cooling rack. When your books are bound, it’s essential to place them on the machine’s cooling rack. This helps the adhesive in the spines to see properly, creating a strong bond that will keep your pages securely in the book. You should let your books cool off for up to 15 minutes before you begin using them. Note: when moving your books, try not to come in contact with the spines. The spines will be very warm and you could possibly burn yourself.

5) Design and use your own covers. When you use SteelBack spines, you have the chance to create your own covers. Just place your cover with your pages, insert them into the spine, and bind. Afterward, just tear off the paper liner of the spine and your cover will be revealed. These materials allow you to get really creative and yet still enjoy the strong bond that comes with using a Unibind spine.

These are five ways you can get the most of your Unibind machine. So get your supplies ready and start binding now!

When you buy a new office machine, there’s no getting around it: you’re going to need some supplies. This is true especially when you buy a pouch laminator or a plastic comb binding machine. But sometimes it can be overwhelming picking out the right supplies. After all, what if you pick the wrong size or color? Well, don’t fret because if you recently bought a Fellowes laminator or comb binding machine, they have an easy solution for you: starter kits. These are sets that contain enough supplies to help you get started using your new device. Here’s a brief look at what they contain.

* Laminating Starter Kits. If you bought a pouch laminator, you’re going to need laminating pouches. These supplies come in a lot of sizes. Some are small enough to envelop a business card while others can laminate paper that’s letter-sized or larger. Chances are you’ll need a variety of sizes so you can laminate a sign one day and a handful of index cards the next. That’s where a Fellowes laminating starter kit can come in handy. Each one contains a variety of pouches so you can laminate a bunch of different sized items. Kits can contain either 25, 52, or 130 pouches, so choose the one that has the right number for you. The 25-pack has pouches that range in thickness from 3 to 5 mil, while the other packs have 3-mil pouches. These packs are a wonderful way for you to experiment with your new laminator without spending a lot of money on supplies.

* Comb Binding Starter Kits. One of the more challenging aspects of plastic comb binding is knowing which size comb you need to use. There are a lot of sizes available, from the very thin 1/4″ ones to the largest which are 2 inches thick. Plus, combs often come in boxes of 100, and if you don’t know what size to buy, eventually you’re going to wind up wasting a lot of money. A Fellowes starter kit can help you avoid that scenario because it contains three of the most common sizes of comb: 1/4″, 5/16″, and 3/8″. Depending on the set you choose, you’ll have 10, 20, or 50 combs so you can experiment and see which one works best for your documents. (And your office won’t be cluttered by the ones that didn’t work. And you’ll save money!) Plus, each set also includes a handful of clear, white, blue, and black binding covers. These covers are both letter-sized and slightly larger (8.75″ x 11.25″) so you’ll definitely be able to make your document look its best.

Finally, depending on which Fellowes machine you bought, you may have had the good fortune of finding one of these kits in the box your machine came in. If not, they’re still a great way to get started with your new laminator or binding machine. Even if your device is made by another manufacturer, such as GBC, these sets can still be used to help you get your feet wet. Get yourself a Fellowes starter kit today so you can enter the productive worlds of pouch laminating and plastic comb binding!

General Binding Corporation is an office product kingpin and with good reason. The company’s been in business since the 1940’s and it really offers some of the best, most reliable, and innovative binding systems available in North America. Here’s a quick look at what document finishing options are available for your office from GBC.

* Plastic combs. This is one of the most commonly used binding methods because it’s affordable, easy, and it can bind documents containing more than 400 pages. GBC manufactures both the combs and machines needed to utilize this method. Some of the best devices available for this type of binding are the CombBind C430 and the C800pro.

* Twin-loop wire. If your documents really need to look professional, twin-loop wire spines are a great choice. It’s an attractive method that’s frequently used by marketing firms, publishers, and so on. GBC makes hole punches and wire closers such as the powerful TL2900 that can help you bind with wire and produce fantastic-looking books.

* Color coil. Want a little color in your world? Use color coil spines. These materials are available in just about every hue you could ever want, from basic black to fuchsia, gray to gold. They can also bind up to an incredible 440 pages. Devices such as the CC2700 can help you give your documents that extra splash of color they need. The company even makes coil crimpers so you can finish off your work perfectly.

* Velobind and SureBind. This method is what you should use when your documents require a strong bond but you still want to be able to edit them later. You can also use it if you want a totally permanent bond. Velobind strips can bind documents that are more than 2 inches thick, making this a great method for those lengthy reports and proposals. GBC has a great lineup of Velobind and SureBind machines to choose from if this method interests you.

* ProClick and ZipBind spines. Both of these two types of spines will not only add a touch of class to your document, it will allow you to make changes to it later. That’s because they can be re-opened at a later time. Most GBC comb binding machines are compatible with ZipBind spines because the spines require the same 19-hole punching pattern used when working with combs. However, there’s a whole series of ProClick equipment available, including the powerful Pronto P3000 that can bind a 100-page book in just 6 seconds. ProClick spines can even be used by hand, making them very versatile.

* Paper and covers. Finally, GBC has a wonderful selection of paper and covers you can use to give your document the great look it deserves. Some of the paper is even pre-punched so you can use it immediately with your CombBind or VeloBind machine. Also, depending on the cover you need, chances are GBC makes it. They have a vast array of covers including ones that are opaque, translucent, customizable, and so on. There are even thermal binding covers available.

General Binding Corporation really lives up to its name. The company not only offers an incredibly large amount of document finishing devices, it even makes the supplies you’ll need to get the job done. To make your documents look great, why not take advantage of what GBC has to offer?

If you’d like to buy a GBC Binding System, you should really visit MyBinding.com. They have a great selection of these products and they also sell some terrific Paper Shredders.

To coin a phrase, the electronic whiteboards that are available today are not your father’s whiteboards. With several capabilities you may never have even thought of, the electronic whiteboards of today are advanced business tools. Here are a few tips on how to best use them.

Practice.

Practice using a whiteboard, you say? Well, yes. When it comes to the most advanced models of whiteboard, we can’t stress enough that you will want to get an idea of what it is capable of. For starters, you will want to get an idea of which pen colors translate best, as well as a general feel for the instrument. To be exact, it will be worth your while to make sure that the information you are writing on the board gets transferred to electronic data, and it can sometimes take a little time to learn how much pressure you need exert for the software to pick it all up. Not that this is a difficult task, it is just something that you will want to have down before it’s time for your big presentation.

There are so many options available with electronic boards, that you will want to make sure you spend some time getting to know what its capabilities are before you use it. The enhanced capabilities of these boards will not only make your presentation better an more convenient for your audience, the advanced may surprise and delight your audience and make your video conference really shine.

Project.

If you do a lot of remote video conferencing, and your audiences vary in size or tend to the large, you will want to make sure that the board you purchase can connect to a digital projector. That way, most larger halls or even theater sized venues are not a problem as long as these venues are equipped with either some sort of screen or a large expanse of wall for you to project your images onto. As with any presentation, you want to make sure that every member of the audience can see whatever it is that you are writing on your board, and by using a good projector, you can multiply the size of your image many times over.

Connect.

Most of the better electronic whiteboards today allow you to do all sorts of things that you might never have imagined. Typically, using a USB port (and even sometimes via bluetooth or Wifi) you can save your presentation for printing, emailing, and otherwise sharing the information right onto your participants’ laptops or PDAs. This is a great way to ensure that everyone in the meeting emerges with exactly the same data. With a lot of these newer whiteboards, you can save each and every board as a PDF before it is erased, and as you move along through your presentation. Some boards are even equipped with the ability to become interactive displays (with the help of a LCD projector).

Hopefully by now, you can see that we really meant it when we suggested in the first section of this article that you take some time and really learn what your electronic whiteboard is capable of.

If you are interested in more information about how the right Electronic Whiteboard, you might want to visit MyBinding.com.

Are you looking for a paper shredder that can withstand moderate use? Do you need a device that has a great shredding capacity and also offers just the right amount of security? If so, one machine that could be a good fit for you is the GBC ShredMaster GSX168. This is one of GBC’s newer products and it has a lot of excellent features for a paper shredder in its class. Let’s take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of the GSX168.

The strengths:

* The GSX168 has a really impressive shredding capacity. It can shred up to 16 sheets of paper per pass so you can shred more paper more quickly.

* In addition to paper, this device can shred credit cards and CD’s/DVD’s. You can leave the paper clips and staples in your documents because the machine can shred them as well.

* This machine offers Level 3 security so your private information will be completely safe. This is a cross-cut device and it will turn a piece of paper into numerous pieces measuring 1/6″ x 1-7/9″.

* The GSX168 has a pretty roomy waste bin with an 8-gallon capacity. This means you won’t have to empty it constantly. The bin is located in a pull-out drawer so when you do have to empty it, it will be very easy.

* This is a jam-free shredder that will enable you to be more productive. It has an indicator light to let you know if you’re trying to shred too much. When it lights up, just remove the extra paper and you’ll be able to keep shredding without any jams.

* This machine will shut off automatically when you’re not using it. This makes it safe to use and it will also prevent the motor from overheating.

* Each unit has casters so moving the shredder around won’t be difficult at all.

* This product has a particularly impressive warranty. The machine itself is covered for two years while the cutters are covered for up to 20.

The weaknesses:

* This machine was made for moderate use and because of its shredding capacity, it’s not ideal for departmental use.

* The GSX168 is a high-quality device and this is reflected in its rather high price tag. (The price is around the $400.00 mark.) The price may be off-putting to potential home users, especially during a recession.

The GBC ShredMaster GSX168 is ideal for environments in which one to three people will use it. It’s great for use in the workplace, as well as at home, even though the price might be a bit prohibitive for some individuals. However, this product is well worth the price due to its multimedia shredding capabilities and its special features, such as jam-free operation and the ability to shut off automatically. It also offers a great level of security so you can be confident that your private information won’t be stolen. And let’s not forget the terrific warranty. If your home office or workplace needs a high-quality shredder for moderate use, the GSX168 is definitely a machine you should consider.

If you’ve ever wanted to produce high-quality documents that can be edited at a later date, GBC ProClick spines are what you’ve been looking for. These spines can make your documents look impressive and they come with a tool that allows you to open the spines after binding so you can add or remove any pages. This is a great binding method that has a great machine to go with it: the P200. This is a device that’s ideal for smaller offices that need a machine to help them out with their ProClick binding. Here are the top five features of this product.

1) Punching and binding capacity. The P200 allows you to both punch and bind your documents. The integrated punch can handle up to 16 pages per lift and punching is super easy thanks to a wonderfully designed ergonomic handle. As for the machine’s binding capabilities, it can bind documents containing up to 100 sheets using 5/16″ and 1/2″ ProClick spines. (The 5/16″ spine can fasten up to 62 sheets while the 1/2″ one can bind a full 100.) Spines are available in four great colors (frost, blue, white, and black) and they’re made of high-quality plastic for durability. The spines also allow your pages to rotate 360 degrees, which will make your documents lay flat, and make them easy to read and photocopy.

2) Convenient built-in tools. This machine has built-in tools to help you open and close your ProClick spines. Closing the spine is the final step in the binding process and it’s very easy to do with the P200. The integrated spine opener will let you re-open the spines after you’ve bound your book so you can make any necessary changes. The ability to edit your documents later is one of the great features of this binding method since not many other methods allow later editing.

3) Use those oversized covers. Although you can only punch and bind letter-sized documents with the P200, you can still make books that have oversized covers. The machine is adjustable so it can accommodate these supplies.

4) Get – and stay – organized. The P200 has a storage tray that can be used to keep all of your ProClick spines in one place. This can definitely help reduce the amount of clutter in your office and help you get more organized. (And hopefully stay that way.)

5) Attractive design. Binding machines can sometimes be rather plain-looking, but that’s definitely not the case with the P200. This is a stylish-looking device that’s pleasing to the eye and will look great on your desk. It won’t take up the entire surface either, because it’s actually quite compact.

Finally, the GBC ProClick P200 comes with a limited one-year warranty that will cover you if the unexpected happens. It’s also very affordable so anyone who wants a high-quality machine would definitely make a wise choice in selecting this product. If ProClick binding appeals to you, get the P200 for your office and start making your own professional-looking documents today!

GBC ProClick spines can not only give your documents a unique, professional look, they’re extremely easy to work with as well. You can use these spines manually, but if you need to create a lot of booklets, using a machine is a good decision, especially if you select the GBC ProClick P3000. This is an innovative device that makes using ProClick spines easier than ever and it can do things that will simply amaze you in a very short amount of time. Keep reading to discover the terrific features of the P3000.

1) Punch more pages, bind more books. The P3000 is an electric device that can punch 15 sheets of letter-sized paper in one go. (This is a greater punching capacity than that of the P50 punch, which can only process 6 sheets at a time.) Since ProClick supplies can bind up to 100 pages, this punching capacity means you can bind more books in a shorter amount of time than if you punched your paper manually.

2) Create your booklet in seconds. When you use the P3000, your booklet’s binding will come from a cassette that contains 20 spines. (This means you don’t have to load your supplies one by one, a true time-saver.) The P3000 can insert a spine into your booklet in just 6 seconds, which is one of the fastest binding times around. Just think of how many booklets you can create when you use this machine! (GBC literature states the P3000 can bind up to 450 books in just one hour.) And don’t forget that you can edit your documents after the fact because the ProClick spines can be re-opened with a special tool. It doesn’t take very long either.

3) It’s easy to use, even for beginners. ProClick spines are very easy to use, even when you bind your documents by hand. However, the P3000 is equally user-friendly thanks to an LCD screen that can take you through the whole binding process. To punch your pages, all you need to do is stick them in the machine and press a button. It’s incredibly easy and even if you’ve never used a binding machine before, it won’t take you very long to learn how to do it.

4) Attractive looks, space-saving design. This device is pretty aesthetically pleasing and it will complement your other office machines quite nicely. It’s even about the size of a regular printer, so it won’t take up very much room.

5) Exceptional warranty and on-site service. A one-year limited warranty will help you out in case your machine malfunctions. And if you do happen to experience any problems with the device, GBC offers a year’s worth of on-site service at no additional cost. This way you’ll be back creating books in no time and you’ll save money on potential repairs.

If you’ve been searching for an extremely fast binding machine, you’ve found it. The GBC ProClick P3000 is simply one of the fastest binders available. So this great product for your office and get ready to bind more booklets than ever before.

GBC ProClick spines can make your documents look great and with the right machine, you can make a ton of books in a very short amount of time. That device is the P3000, a machine that has a lightning-fast binding speed, among other features. Let’s take a look at the positives and negatives of this product.

The positives:

* The supplies that this machine uses, GBC ProClick spines, are some of the most versatile binding supplies available. These spines are available in four colors (black, blue, frost, and white) and three sizes: 5/16″ (62 sheets), 1/2″ (100 sheets), and 5/8″ (125 sheets). The spines can be opened up after a book has been bound, allowing you to edit your document.

* The main attraction of the P3000 is its incredibly fast binding speed. It can bind a booklet in just 6 seconds, which means it can bind up to 450 books in one hour. This is simply one of the fastest binding machines currently available.

* The machine has an integrated punch. It’s located at the bottom of the unit and it can punch up to 15 sheets at a time.

* ProClick spines are easy to use to begin with, and the process can be even easier when the P3000 is used. The unit has an LCD display that will take you through the entire binding process, making the device extremely user-friendly even for beginners.

* Instead of loading one spine at a time into the device, the P3000 uses cassettes that contain 20 spines. This cuts way down on the amount of time spent preparing the machine for use.

* This is a product that looks great and has a footprint similar to that of a printer. It will blend in nicely with your other office devices while not taking up too much room.

* The P3000 comes with a one-year on-site service contract without an additional fee. The contract is valued at $299.00, so this is a great money-saving feature.

The negatives:

* Most of the weaknesses of the P3000 have to do with the nature of ProClick spines themselves. For example, the spines can really only be used for letter-sized documents. You cannot bind books that are larger than 8.5″ x 11.” Also, the highest binding capacity is 125 sheets, so this isn’t a good method if you need to make longer books on a regular basis. (Thermal or plastic comb binding is better for those documents.) Finally, some people might find the color selection a bit limited. If that’s the case, color coil binding is the way to go.

* The P3000’s punching capacity might be problematic when you’re producing a lot of books. For example, if you created a 125-page book, you’d need to use the punch more than 8 times to get all your pages ready. This can lead to a lot of time spent punching, especially when you’re creating a big pile of books. Also, you may experience some problems if you try to punch plastic covers. If you’d like to use that type of cover, there are pre-punched ones you can use instead.

Overall, the GBC ProClick Pronto P3000 is a great binding machine for people who love the look of documents bound with ProClick spines. The machine binds very quickly and it looks great, too. If your office needs a machine that can keep up with your document production demands and you’re a fan of ProClick supplies, this product would be a fantastic choice.

General Binding Corporation (GBC) is best-known for their high-quality plastic comb binding machines, but they also make some really great paper shredders for both home and office use. One of their best products is the ShredMaster GSX168, a device that’s ideal for moderate use by individuals both at home and at work. Here are six reasons why you should buy this excellent product.

1) Fantastic shredding capabilities. The GSX168 is perfect if you want to shred a rather large amount of paper at once. It can shred up to 16 sheets per pass, which is great for a device meant for moderate use. It will also shred credit cards and CD’s/DVD’s, so you’ll have a total solution to all of your shredding needs. And feel free to leave the paper clips and staples in your paper because this device will chew them right up.

2) Terrific security. Choosing a shredder that offers a lot of security is always a good idea. The GSX168 is a cross-cut device with a Level 3 security rating so you can be confident that all of your private information will never be read by someone who shouldn’t see it. Your items will be reduced to shreds that measure 1/6″ x 1-7/9″, so it will be impossible for anyone to read your stuff.

3) No more paper jams. Dealing with a paper jam can take up a lot of time. It’s also very annoying. Paper jams will be a thing of the past when you use the GSX168 because it offers totally jam-free operation. The machine has an overfeed indicator that will turn red if you try to shred too many sheets. When it lights up, just remove the extra sheets. Paper jam averted!

4) Roomy waste bin. Emptying a shredder’s waste bin can be a bit of pain, not to mention messy. You won’t have to deal with that particular chore very often because the GSX168 has a large 8-gallon waste bin. And when it does come time to dispose of your shreds, you can pull the bin out like a drawer, making disposal quick and easy.

5) Save energy – and the machine’s motor. Another one of the great features of the GSX168 is its ability to shut down automatically after short period of non-use. This will help you save some cash when the power bill comes and it means your machine will be less likely to overheat, thus lengthening the life of the motor.

6) A very long warranty. Warranties are an important consideration when buying a shredder because you want to be covered if something goes wrong. When you buy the GSX168, your investment will be covered for a long time because there’s a two-year warranty on the machine as whole, plus an additional 20 years of coverage on the cutting mechanism.

From its impressive shredding capability to the lengthy warranties, there are a lot of reasons to buy the GBC ShredMaster GSX168. So what are you waiting for? Get this machine for your home or office today and prepare to be amazed by its impressive features.

If you need an easy-to-use binding machine so your office can create great-looking documents, one product that’s worth a look is the GBC ProClick P110. This device was designed for small offices and it does a great job, even though has a few limitations. Let’s take a closer look at this machine….

Strengths:

* The P110 is a great machine to use when you need to quickly create a professionally bound document. This device can bind up to 110 pages using GBC ProClick spines. It’s also compatible with color coil spines, so you can have options when it comes to binding your books.

* Each unit not only can bind, it can punch as well. The P110’s hole punch can work with 15 sheets at a time, which is a decent punching capacity for this type of device. The punching mechanism even has a Guide Right system so your pages will always be aligned just right so they can punched accurately. (This system will even work with oversized covers.) Although you have to manually punch the paper, it’s easy to do so thanks to a D-shaped handle that’s easy to grip for both right- and left-handed users.

* ProClick spines are unique in that they allow the pages of a document to lay flat and also be rotated a full 360 degrees. This makes your documents easier to read. Plus, the spines can be opened even after binding so you can do any necessary editing.

* This machine has a storage tray for your ProClick spines, as well as a spine selector guide. There are hooks on the top of the machine that can hold a spine so you can add pages to it as you punch them.

* The P110 has a limited one-year warranty that will cover just about anything that goes wrong with the machine.

Weaknesses:

* The P110 is a rather bulky device that will probably take up a fair amount of room in your office. It lacks the sleek styling of some of GBC’s other binding machines such as Pronto P3000.

* You can only bind letter-sized books with this device, so if you like working with legal-sized or half-size documents, a totally different binding method needs to be considered.

* Although the 5/8″ ProClick spines can bind up to 125 sheets, this device has a binding capacity of 110. It’s baffling why the P110 can’t bind as many sheets that the spine is capable of securing.

* Some people are likely to be put off by the limitations of the ProClick spines. They can only bind 125 pages, come in just four colors (black, blue, frost, and white), and were designed to be used with letter-sized documents, as mentioned above. If you don’t care for the size and color options, this isn’t the binding method for you.

As you can see, the P110 is a good, basic binding machine that would be a natural choice if your office likes the look and feel of ProClick spines. Although this binding method and machine has some limitations, it’s definitely worth your consideration.
